Corporate Profile
Cogent Fibre is the leading exporter of wood chips in the eastern United States. Our ability to deliver excellence in the following areas has earned us growing clients on four continents.
Fueling Growth
Everything Cogent Fibre does is measured against our simple mandate: provide the highest quality wood chips, reliably and efficiently. It’s an approach that has made us the largest exporter of wood chips on the American Atlantic; and the exclusive choice of clients who count on quality, consistently delivered, to grow their businesses.
Removing Barriers to Profit
There are 25 complex steps in bringing wood chips from the forest
floor to the factory door. Every one of them has the potential
to add or strip value from our clients business. With the only
dedicated and active wood chip terminal in the eastern United
States, a 150,000 metric ton storage facility, and a complete
supply chain methodology, we ensure the ready provision of wood
chips to our clients.
Professionalism
Individually, each partner at Cogent Fibre represents an experienced specialist in their stage of the Cogent Fibre process. Together, they set the professional standards through which Cogent Fibre is able to meet the most exacting customer needs.
cogent quotes
"Many companies preach the tired tenet of, ‘under promise and over deliver’. At Cogent Fibre we won’t under promise so that we can over deliver, we take a different approach: we simply do what we say we will, every time. It's called integrity and it's the very principle upon which our company is built.”
Donald R. McClure, Partner
“The shipping industry is one where experience, reputation and relationships
are vital to success. It is critical to understand the nuances of local businesses
while having full awareness of global forces in order to swiftly move commodities
across the world. Add creativity to the mix and you achieve the perfect balance
for reliable, sustainable and economical logistics, which is what we do best.”
Geralyn Petrafesa, Partner
“An astute customer once commented "the most expensive raw material is the raw material we don't have." Every moment that is spent worrying about raw material needs is a moment that is not spent growing your business. I take pride in witnessing our customers’ growth with the knowledge that our consistent on time delivery has provided them the ability to make it happen.”
